Preparing to write

Kaspersky Rescue Disk can write an .iso image to a CD / DVD or to a removable drive. To write Kaspersky Rescue Disk, format your removable drive in the Fat16, Fat32 or NTFS file system and make it a boot drive.

Even on small capacity USB drives, formatting takes some time (the larger the capacity, the longer the formatting takes). Wait until formatting is finished.

To make a removable booting drive, use the corresponding applications (for instance, for Microsoft Windows XP you can use the Diskpart application and for Microsoft Windows Vista / Microsoft Windows 7 use the HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool).
